Cinema's own web site
The Parkway Barnsley is housed in the former Odeon Cinema on Eldon Street. Odeon closed & sold the building in September 2005 and following a lot of negotiating, a deal was struck between the new landlord of the building and us in May 2007.

'We' are Rob Younger of Propix UK Ltd, a Cinema projection & sound servicing company and Gerald Parkes of Parkway Entertainment Company Ltd, already operating the 9-screen Parkway Multiplex in Cleethorpes and the 3-screen Playhouse Cinema in Louth. We totally redecorated the Cinema (for the first time in 27 years!), re-equipped it with new screens, sound & projection equipment and completely refitted the foyer and box office. We re-opened in August 2007, trading as Parkway Cinema Barnsley Limited.

We are totally independent and run the Cinema on mainstream releases, usually on, or very near release.

We re-established the Senior Screen very early on - this runs every Wednesday morning at 10.30, admission is just £3.00, including free tea, coffee & biscuits and is proving to be very popular.

We are now building links with the local community and regularly have school visits to the cinema. We offer a professional cinema experience with a friendly, personal service.

Come and give us a try!
